Sparrow Rehabilitation Therapist Karikalan Velusamy was given the Jane Murdock Legacy Award, presented to a Sparrow Rehabilitation Department Caregiver every quarter. Kari was nominated by a Patient who wrote, "Kari is an excellent therapist. He is very skilled at manual therapy and will keep trying until he finds a solution to the problem." Kari demonstrates compassion for his Patients and excellence in his technique.
The award is named after a former Manager of Sparrow's Adult Acute Care Rehabilitation Department who exemplified values that Sparrow extols, such as compassion, respect and excellence. A Rehabilitation Therapist can be nominated for the award by a Patient, co-worker or Leader.
