Lansing kicks off School Watch program with support from Sparrow

Published: Aug. 27, 2014

Sparrow is supporting a new program that provides an extra set of eyes and ears to help keep Lansing students and neighborhoods safe.

The School Watch program, a partnership between the City of Lansing, the Lansing School District and the Lansing Police Department, launched Aug. 27 with a press conference at Sexton High School.

The program sends citizen volunteers into neighborhoods surrounding Lansing schools to help detect and prevent crime against local students and schools so students can focus on education and not worry about their safety.

As part of our mission to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve, Sparrow is committed to supporting efforts like this to ensure safety at and around local schools.
