Longtime Sparrow Nurse Named CNO of E.W. Sparrow Hospital

LANSING, MI – A longtime Sparrow nurse and leader has been named chief nursing officer of E.W. Sparrow Hospital.

Kathy Marble, of Okemos, has served as interim CNO since October and has already tackled many important issues at Sparrow. She comes from the nursing ranks, having worked as a Sparrow nurse for 40 years, including 25 in the Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit as a nurse, staff educator and manager. Marble has also served as director of women and children services, leader of pediatric services, and has been part of the Michigan Medicine and Sparrow joint venture team in pediatrics since it was established in 2019. She has also served in the planning section of Sparrow’s Incident Command, which played a crucial role in Sparrow’s response during the pandemic.

Marble has excelled at developing strong relationships with caregivers throughout Sparrow, has created important physician partnerships and led a hospital-wide initiative to assess and support patients with sensory needs.
