Results of our top MAC Juniors in the Western Michigan Junior Qualifying Tournament
June 8 - June 10, 2012
The MAC had 37 juniors this past weekend try to qualify for the Western Closed Tournaments to be held June 23 - 29 in Kalamazoo and Indianapolis. The top 4 players in the main draw (players who reached the semi-finals) and the winner of the Feed-in Consolation (FIC) Tourney automatically qualify for the Western Closed Tournaments made up of the 6 Midwest states. The MAC had 5 girls and 8 boys qualify for the Western Closed Tournaments out of our 37 entrants!!
Girl's 12's:
- Alisa Sabotic won the division defeating the #2 seed 7-5, 6-3. Alisa qualified for the Western Closed.
Girl's 14's:
- Olivia Hanover lost in the semi's to the #1 seed 6-0, 6-0 and won the 3/4 playoff 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Olivia qualified for the Western Closed.
- Monika Francsics lost in the semi's to the #2 seed6-2, 6-3 and lost the 3/4 playoff in 3 sets. Monika qualified for the Western Closed.
- Kylie Wilkinson lost in the r16 to the #1 seed 6-1, 6-0 and then reached the final of the FIC Tourney before losing 6-1, 6-2.
- Hannah Vogelsang lost in the r16 to the #3 seed 6-4, 6-3 and then reached the semi's of the FIC Tourney before falling 6-1, 6-2.
- Natasha Chinoy lost in the quarter's 6-1, 6-0.
Girl's 16's:
- Sara Daavettila, playing up in age group, reached the final where she had double match point on her opponent (6-7, 5-6) before having to retire with a medical condition. Sara qualified for the Western Closed.
- Abby Perkins lost in the quarter's to the #1 seed 6-0, 6-3. She then won thwe FIC Tourney 7-6, 6-2. Abby qualified for the Western Closed.
Boy's 10's:
- Ozan Colak reached the final where he lost to the #2 seed 7-6, 6-4. Ozan qualified for the Western Closed.
- Druv Talluri lost in the semi's to the #1 seed 6-2, 6-0 and the 3/4 playoff 6-4, 6-2. Druv qualified for the Western Closed.
- Grant Schaberg lost in the quarter's to the #2 seed 6-1, 6-0 and then reached the final of the FIC Tourney losing 6-1, 6-0.
Boy's 12's:
- Oliver Weaver reached the final losing to the #1 seed 6-1, 6-1. Oliver qualified for the Western Closed.
- Dinakar Talluri lost in the quarter's to the #1 seed 6-1, 6-1 and then won the FIC Tourney final 6-3, 6-0. Dinakar qualified for the Western Closed.
- Daniel Gorelik lost in the r16 to the #5 seed 6-1, 7-5 and then lost in the quarter's of the FIC Tourney 5-7, 6-1, 10-8.
- Karthik Kolisetty lost in the r16 to the #2 seed 6-3, 6-0.
Boy's 14's:
- Alex Reinbold reached the semi's before falling to the #1 seed 6-0, 6-1 and then lost in the 3/4 playoff 6-4, 6-4. Alex qualified for the Western Closed.
- Jordan Jacobsen lost in the quarter's to the #4 seed 6-3, 6-4 and then went on to win the FIC Tourney final 7-5, 6-1. Jordan qualified form the Western Closed.
- Adham Oweiss reached the r16 before losing to the #6 seed 6-1, 6-0.
Boy's 16's:
- Michael Sienko reached the final before bowing to the #1 seed 6-2, 6-1. Michael qualified for the Western Closed.
- Matthew Heeder lost in the r16 to the #5 seed 7-5, 6-2 and then reached the semi's of the FIC Tourney before falling 6-3, 6-3.
Boy's 18's:
- Harris Jadun reached the final before losing to the #1 seed 6-4, 6-3. Harris qualified for the Western Closed.
