Sparrow Clinton Hospital in St. Johns recently earned national recognition from iVantage Health Analytics as one of the top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the United States.
iVantage Health Analytics uses its Hospital Strength Index to rank rural, safety-net hospitals based on market conditions, clinical and operational performance and financial and qualitative outcomes. The characteristics of the 100 top Critical Access Hospitals are described in the iVantage Health Analytics study as "Benchmark Performance for Critical Access Hospitals."
The study found that overall the 100 Critical Access Hospitals perform as well or better at the median than all U.S. general acute-care hospitals.
Also among the top 100 CAHs is Sparrow affiliate Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital in Charlotte.
