Clinton Safety Emergency Manager wins Preparedness Award

Congratulations to Dean Hartenburg, Sparrow Clinton Hospital Safety Emergency Manager, who was recently recognized by the Michigan Emergency Management Association for his exceptional work in emergency preparedness. Dean was nominated by his peers and earned the ASPR-Patient Care Preparedness Award.

Dean conducts full-scale exercises in evacuation/shelter in place and decontamination situations, helping Sparrow Clinton Hospital Caregivers responsibility train and prepare for the vital role they play in their community through service at a Critical Access Hospital.

Dean has developed education programs for hospital first receivers that have become a benchmark for community emergency preparedness.

A long standing member of the District 1 Executive Board and the Do1Thing Board, he has been instrumental in the development of the Do1Thing program, which has grown from a small local personal preparedness project to a state and national program.
