Sparrow Emergency Department honors local EMS providers

As part of National EMS Week, Sparrow's Emergency Department Caregivers honored Lansing Fire Department and Timothy Booms of the Meridian Township Fire Department for the quality of pre-hospital care they provide to Patients.

The awards are voted on by Sparrow Emergency Department Caregivers and were handed out by Sparrow Emergency Department Physician John Dery, D.O., FACEP, FACOEP and Emergency Department Manager Stacey Peacock, MSN, RN, CNML, during an EMS-recognition event hosted by state Rep. Tom Cochran.

Sparrow EMS Appreciation Awards honored the Lansing Fire Department and Booms for their dedication to providing the kind of care that everyone would want for their loved ones.

Also, Dr. Dery was recognized for his involvement in promoting the use of CyanoKit, a medication used for cyanide poisoning, at the scene of a fire for smoke inhalation victims by local fire departments.
