Sparrow hosts National Cancer Survivors Day Celebration

Sparrow will host Mid-Michigan's 21st Annual National Cancer Survivors Day Celebration on Sunday, June 7 from 1-3 p.m. in the parking deck upper level at Sparrow Cancer Center, 2015 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing.

Join cancer survivors and their families as they celebrate survivorship.The family celebration picnic includes special speakers, music, a recognition of survivors, and much more to celebrate cancer survivors and family members whose lives have been affected by a loved one with cancer.

Children's activities will include face painting and games. Survivor goodie bags will be given to the first 250 cancer survivors.

This year's theme is Around the World featuring stops at far-away laces such as China, Egypt, England, Chile, and Hawaii. The program begins at 2 p.m. with door prizes at 3 p.m. This year's emcee is James Herman, M.D.

Free parking and shuttles will be available on the first two levels of the Sparrow Professional Building Ramp. If walking from the parking deck, please use the crosswalk at Michigan Avenue and Jerome Street.
