A Physician hailed as a “Hero of Emergency Medicine” for his role in assisting the wounded on Sept. 11, 2001, will be keynote speaker of the 41st Annual Kaleidoscope event, sponsored by the Sparrow Foundation and Women Working Wonders.

Dr. Antonio Dajer was the sole attending physician on duty that morning in the Emergency Department of New York Downtown Hospital in Lower Manhattan. By day’s end, he and his team had treated more than 1,500 victims of the terrorist attack on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.

Kaleidoscope takes place on Friday, Sept. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, 219 S. Harrison Road, East Lansing. The daylong event focuses on women's health and education initiatives, and features unique opportunities to learn and network.

Other special guests include a Kaleidoscope favorite, Professor Elliot Engel, an award-winning teacher of English and American literature, who will present a lecture on famed American architect Frank Lloyd Wright.

Other sessions throughout the day will cover a wide range of interesting topics, with a special emphasis on a celebration of the American spirit.

Those interested in attending may register in advance by calling 1.800.Sparrow. Walk-in registrations are also welcome on the day of the event. For more information, visit SparrowFoundation.org/Kaleidoscope.
