CARSON CITY, MI – Sparrow Carson Hospital is proud to announce that Sparrow Medical Group Ithaca physician David Freestone, M.D., was recently recognized by the Gratiot Chamber of Commerce as Ithaca Person of the Year.
Dr. Freestone has been caring for patients at the SMG Ithaca location for more than 21 years. During this time, he has served as practice leader, chief of staff, is on the Sparrow Carson Hospital Board of Directors, and serves on the Sparrow Carson Foundation Development Council as chairman. He has shown an undying passion to serve the community.
“I’m honored to be given this award, and feel there are many very deserving people in the area due this award,” Dr. Freestone said.
Dr. Freestone values the health of his community, cares for community members in the clinic and serves as a team doctor during many Ithaca High School sporting events. Dr. Freestone supported the playscape in Woodland Park in Carson City to provide an opportunity for children to have fun physical activity, and is also a land and wildlife conservationist. Throughout the last 20 years, with help from his family, he has planted over 4,800 trees for future generations to enjoy.
