Published: Jan. 1, 2014

Kay and Andy McLane of Jackson rang in the New Year with the birth of their daughter, the first Sparrow baby of 2014.

Lily Zofia McLane was born at 1 a.m. and weighed in at 7 pounds 1 ounce. She was delivered by James Barton, M.D., resident Ryan Luellwitz, D.O., nurses Heidi Gyomory and Erin Gilbert-Eyres, anesthesiologist Gertrude Hawkins, D.O., and nurse anesthetist Laurie Schively.

Lily is Kay and Andy's first child and they were not expecting her to be the New Year's baby. Dad said: "Everybody is doing well and we're just excited to have her."

As Sparrow's 2014 New Year's Baby, Lily and her parents will receive an infant car seat along with a teddy bear and gifts from Sparrow.

Sparrow is mid-Michigan's most popular birthing center, delivering about 4,000 babies a year. For more information on Sparrow's Birthing Services, visit Sparrow.org/birthing.
