U-M Health Announces New Regional Finance Vice President

LANSING, MI – Matt Nobis, CPA, has been named Regional Vice President of Finance for University of Michigan Health, acting as Regional President Margaret Dimond’s key financial adviser in guiding the regional system that includes Sparrow and University of Michigan Health-West.

Nobis has served as Director of Finance/Controller of Sparrow Health System since April 2020 and in that capacity created a forecast model for partnership discussions with U-M Health; oversaw more than $120 million in federal COVID relief funds; and served as a contact with credit agencies, among other accomplishments.

He previously served as Director of Finance/Controller for Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw and as Director of Internal Audit at MidMichigan Health in Midland.

Nobis is also active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors of Sparrow Clinton Hospital, Sparrow Development, Inc., and Ingham Health Plan, and on the advisory board of Mary Free Bed at Sparrow.

He received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University and MBA from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.

Nobis will work closely with Eric Strucko, Chief Financial Officer, Michigan Medicine, and report to Bobby Hewlett, Michigan Medicine’s Corporate Controller.
