Thanks to the generosity of the Sparrow Ionia Healthcare Advocates we have a beautiful chapel for those who would like a quieter, more private place to meditate. The Chapel is located on the second floor, next to the Surgical Waiting area. Sparrow Ionia Hospital welcomes volunteer chaplains that can assist our patients and their family members who may need spiritual guidance on their journey.
The natural garden located outside the dining area on the first floor, was built with the support of the Rotary Club of Ionia, and is meant to be a place of respite for patients, family members and caregivers. Inside the Garden is a walkway of engraved bricks in memory or honor of caregivers and community members.
Available through Patient Access, we offer free interpreter services to ensure patients can receive medical information in their own language.
Patients who stay in the hospital overnight are cared for in large, private patient rooms with plenty of space and sleeper couches to accommodate family members. All rooms have telephones and TV’s available for your convenience and comfort.
The Roeser Walking Trail is a 1.2-mile outdoor walking path around the hospital that starts at the Healing Garden. Supported by caregivers and community members, the trail is dedicated to Bill Roeser, retired President of Sparrow Ionia Hospital, and his wife Marcia, a longtime Sparrow Hospital nurse.
Experience the benefit of health and wellbeing of the community we serve. The trail is available as weather permits.
